Craziest Week Ever....

wow is all i can say. this week was the beginning of the end of my high school education. FINALLY. hahah, jk. no, I've been in the IB program for three years and each day has been a struggle and a challenge. not to say that it wasn't fun, rewarding and a good learning experience. but it was very difficult for me in the beginning.
this week has been nothing but exams. it kind of tapered: monday=1, tuesday=2, wednesday=3, thursday=2, friday=1. so that was actually really nice. sadly, though, this week has been nothing but terribly confusing. i can't even remember what day it is, let alone what i had for dinner yesterday or when i even went to PE this week. i've stayed after school until 6, 8 or 10 every day (except wednesday, it was nice to make it home by 5) to study, take tests, or prepare for more. right now our priority is studying for the Drama test--we have to pick a genre to study and Ms Harper chose Drama, so we've read Antigone, Pygmalion, and still need to do Death of a Salesman and Master Harold...and the Boys. I finished Master Harold...today and I liked it a lot. i don't think i get it quite yet. but i have to have this stuff done by monday. eek. so tomorrow is a 12-10 day again, but i have work from 11-1:30. ugh.
so now i am exhausted because this day has been hella long. i was at school for sixteen hours, and i need to get into bed ASAP. but I got my own laptop! I'm so happy to have something that nice for my own--It's not being rented from the school. whoo hoo!
anyways, hasta manana.

What a strange day...

So it was a long day like usual. Our IB exams are next week and looming in the near future, so our amazing English/History teacher, Ms. Harper, is giving up at least 5 more hours a day to help us review our material. So after hours of Vietnam and Cold War review, we finally wrapped up and cleaned her room, making it ready to come back to on Sunday (from 11-8. Ugh!)

Anyways, Jon, Erica, Alison, Stephen and I were walking out to the student parking lot and we saw a guy laying there. Initially, I freaked out and lagged behind, maybe looking for protection instinctively. Jon told me to walk quickly to the car and the man told him to call the police because he had been hit by a car and his hip was broken. Stephen walked Alison and Erica to their car and then came back to us. Steve and I called 911 and an ambulance, the police, and fire/paramedics showed up within minutes. We stayed to give police statements and to let them know what we saw. He was taken care of and I'm positive that he's in the hospital now, because he was pretty messed up. Poor guy. But I'm glad that it worked out the way it did, and I think the entire incident has really changed my perspective--I'm just happy to be at home with my family whom I love very much.

Sleep well and be careful.
